OUR AIMS:

OUR AIMS:

To Promote Self Discipline,'Self Respect and Self Worth in all students of any age and ability,    We teach all students and Instructors to be fully aware of any bullying or intimidation taking place within our class sessions, ’whilst our sessions are taking place and to recognise any signs of fellow students struggling within our class sessions.  We teach all students in small groups to allow them to gain the necessary knowledge to achieve their grades at all levels of training.  Including at infant or senior level.  Each class is broken down into easy to learn sections with regular rest breaks for all students.

PROMOTING SELF DISCIPLINE:

We promote self-discipline both within and out of our classes we do this by encouraging our students to practice form work in their own time as well as practicing within the class, we also encourage all students to ask questions when struggling within the session.  Our Classes are not based upon form work or the martial arts lesson which is taking place. But we also have fun and play regular games within our sessions for our younger students, ’we also encourage our younger students to behave respectfully towards their parents and teachers within school and at home.  This teaches our students to have Self-Discipline within the classroom environment as well as in the family home and within our class sessions.

TEACHING OUR STUDENTS ABOUT SELF RESPECT:

We teach our students about self-respect by asking them to turn up to class in suitable and clean clothing,’ we do this not to make our students feel self-conscious or embarrassed themselves, ’but to make them fully aware of how others may see them.  We ask all students to come to class with a tidy appearance so as to not get bullied for the way they look.  We also ask all students once they have gotten a uniform to come to class with it clean.  We also teach our students to have self-respect for themselves by praises them at all times when they complete a form or set successfully and to encourage others when completing exercise’s.  This boosts all students confidence when they are told they have achieved something they didn’t believe possible in the first place.

TEACHING OUR STUDENTS ABOUT SELF WORTH:

We teach our students to have self-worth in themselves,’ by showing them that it is possible to achieve their grades with hard work and practice, ’all students are taught at their own pace in our classes.

Below are some of other the training techniques within our training program which are as follows:-

We also teach all students the following skills within our classes and in out of session seminars and events:

HONOUR/GOOD SPORTMANSHIP & FAIR PLAY

All students in our club are taught to be honourable in defeat and gracious when winning.  In sparring for example when a winning strike has been achieved by a student on their opponent we teach them to make sure their opponent is okay after they bow at of respect to their partner and shake hands.  This teaches all students that even when in completion with each other the honourable way is to behave respectfully to other even if they do not with you.

PERSEVERANCE

We encourage all students to continue to attend regular sessions even when they do not feel like it,’ this helps them improve their training and their skills as a martial arts student.  We also encourage all students not to give up at the first hurdle, when they struggle to achieve a grade we get them to focus on the positive and not the negative parts of not achieving a particular grade.  Has in life we don’t always succeed the first time around but this doesn’t mean we give up because we sometimes fail to achieve our goals.

BALANCE/CO-ORDINATION/FOCUS & CONDITIONING

We teach our students that balance in class is very important, not just in their studies at school but after school activities as well.  Has a school we encourage all students to do well in their studies at school and if they are struggling to seek help from those most qualified.  If a student is unable to read or write we help them achieve this by offering free sessions where they can ask for help if they are struggling with homework from our classes or school work.  In martial arts we understand that having a healthy balance between school and home is often difficult so we offer to help students in any way we can achieve their goals both in school and in our classes.  In our classes we like to teach our students good co-ordination skills within our training schedule, this is usually done for our younger students by introducing games within the class such as: Kung fu football, (Handball) for wheelchair students. We also use our Chi Sao forms, ’exercise’s and Weapons forms for our older students to help them learn the benefits of hand to eye co-ordination skills. As well as Pad Striking and shadow training.   All students are taught to focus when training at our club this is done throughout their training with us at the club, ’as each student requires a different focus we do this based upon each students individual requirements, we are not a one size fits all type of organisation, instead we teach each student to focus in their own way to achieve their own goals in their own time.  When it comes to conditioning within our school we teach all students to set their own goals when it comes to improving fitness for example we help them draw up their own fitness plan which will help them achieve that set goal. When it comes to conditioning certain parts of the body they would like to improve i.e. strengthening their arms for example we help them do this by manly focusing on the weaker parts of the body to help improve their fitness level as a whole, again we are not a one size fits all type of club, we cater to the needs of each student, ’when it comes to conditioning and improving their ability to train

TEAMWORK & TEAMBUILDING SKILLS

We encourage all students and Instructors, to build upon their team-work and team-building skills throughout their time of training with us, all students and Instructors are taught from the start of their training the importance of teamwork both in class and at our out of class activities including sponsor or charity events, seminars and competitions.  A great way that we encourage this is at our regular Budo events which are run four times yearly, in which both students and Instructors at the club have the opportunity to practice other martial arts styles with other clubs from different areas.

Our Aim is a basic one,' too offer all students a school which is deadicated to making sure they not only acheive the necessary skills needed to become a great martial arts student but to make sure that no student is left behind whilst they are training with us in our clubs.  We are committed to help all students which enter through our doors to help them not just acheive a 1st Dan but go onto to acheive a Grandmaster Qualification after many years of studying several martial arts styles under our tution.  And too carry on our tradition of teaching the martial arts way to all those who wish to learn martial arts.
