Training the Trainers

As Volunteers... our job is never simple.....

as we teach many students and each student within our classes has different needs so how do we provide help for those students who struggle with their martial arts studies. Our answer is simple we ask the students what they need. If they have diffculty reading or writing then our Chief Instructor Mitch will take the time on a one on basis with any student that asks for help to help them with their studies. If a Student struggles to understand a form or set they are studying in martial arts then time is taken with that student out of class helping the student learn their forms.

Our committment is to our students and their training if thet fail then as Instructors we fail our students so we do what we do best we teach... All of our Assistant Instructors who are at senior level are taught this throughout their training and rising into the rank of Senior Cadet Instructors and Finally when they become a Full Instructor. Every step of the way our Instructors and students are helped through their training.

Our foundation isn't just about the Disicpline and Respect or even the committment we ask from all of our students and Instructors, We also have alot to offer New students and up and coming Instructors. Such things as friendship, team building and understanding are just afew of the things we can offer all who join within our organisation.

For both students and Instructors,' martial arts to us isn't just a art but it is away of life and for many of our club members this becomes part of their life aswell, We also now offer,'budo seminars to those who wish to attend and future boot camps for those who wish to go. We aslo have regular christmas parties for all club members and their families,' we offer guidance to those who ask for it,' and a shoulder to lean on when a student or Instructor struggles in day to day life. After all,'a willing ear or voice for a parnet to talk too when they need too talk is always nice and we encourage families to join in with club activities such as sponsor and charity events to raise money for the children within our club and communitee.

All of our Instructors are asked to have a fully Enchanced CRB Check before they become Instructors and during their time as Instructors with our foundation and our club, Each Instructor is also re-assessed yearly on the necessary courses needed to stay a Instructor at our club.

We now offer Free sessions monthly to all club members who attend full time training within our club,'which no other club in our area does.

Our Clubs Executive Committee as been set up to protect and disicpline any Instructor that does not abide to the rules and regulations given to them when they 1st become Club Members of GOOCH.I.K.F. Scunthorpe Club. Our Club Committee as been set up to protect all students and discipline them when they fail to abide by club rules and regulations.

We encourage all students and Parents and Partners to join one of our committee's to help raise awareness and keep them in the loop of day to day activities available through our clubs, we are constantly looking for new adult members to donate afew hours a month to help supervise Sponsor Events,'Fun Days and Charity Events.

OUR OTHER PANELS

The Vulnerable Adults Panel, Parental Committee,' Student Panel and the Child Protection Panel. Is made up of Club members.

Our Vulnerable Adult Panel is made up of our most senior club members who deal with all details reguarding students with dissabilities who are of adult age (18 and above) It is set up to protect all Vulnerable Adult Students from bullying of any kind or any mis behaviour aimed towards them including sexual,verbal or mental abuse from any student or Instructor within our Club setting or When traveling on Club Outings. Any student, Instructor Caught committing such misconduct will be brought up to face the Executive Commitee and Parental Panel and or may also face Criminal Charges If the need is required.

The Parental Panel is made Up of Parents. They will be Informed IMMEDIATELY if it is found that their child is being bullied in Class by either fellow students or Instructors. In both cases the person or persons Involved will face Disicplinary action.

Our Student Panel is made up of Junior and Infant members age 10 upto the age of 17 years old the student panel has three mentors to guide them in their descision making but all descisons are put forward by a panel voting system with the students involved with the panel.

All students on this panel will be asked to speak to their Instructors about matters Involving students under the age of 15. Again if disciplinary action is required the Executive and Parental Committee will be informed.

Our Child Protection Panel is made up of 5 members of the Excutive Committee with 3 Open available yearly to Parents of Student Members who are below the age of 16. All descisons are made with the full committee's approval with exception of suspendsion of students or Instructors from club should the need become apparent. On these matters alone the final descison solely rests upon the chief Instructor upon being advised by the club's Child Protection Panel,'Vulnerable Adults Panel,Parental Panel,'Student Panel and Child Protection Panel Members. This panel deals with all cases of misconduct involving children upto the age of 17.

Our Charity Event Panel is made up of from the Excutive Committee Members,Parental Panel, Student Panel and Student Members we are awaiting new applications to take part in this Panel to help Organise New Events Every Year to raise funds for the Club and Local communitte of Scunthorpe If you are Interested in this please make your enquires to Mr Gooch at goochkungfu@hotmail.com.

The only other Panel which is not required to have CRB Checks is our new students panel for the under 16's which is made up of students from the age of 11 years old upwards.

We are committed to the Involvement of all students, new students, new Instructors and Parents who choose to volunteer their time to the club in oursurrounding area. All descisions of Panel Members,' Must be put to Founder and Chairman in form of writing prior to a descision being requested from Panel Members.

CLUB STATEMENT

Our Foundation,'Is committed to the protection of both adults and children whether they are in our club and taking part in our sessions or at club event such as a seminar or competition. Our Club Committee's & Club Panel's have been put into place for the protection of all club members alike. We would Like to state that we will base any descision made upon any club member should they find they have to face any of these panels at any time,'on the facts put to us and not on heresay alone. We will not tolerate ANY Discrimination, Rascism, Sexual Mis-conduct or Bullying of any kind within our club sessions by any Club members or members of the Public whilst a Child or Adult member is in training with us or taking part in an event with this Foundation or this Club.
